Retirees, Those Soon To Be and the Hobby - O Gauge Railroading On Line ...
Everyone's mileage obviously differs. Another thing to remember is that Social Security payments are generally not subject to state income tax, and only 85% of it is subject to federal income tax. So Social Security income is more valuable than regular wages or other retirement investment income.
How's Precision Schedule Railroad (PSR) working for you?
Those now seem to take longer more circuitous return routes which enables CSX to ding you on excess empty mileage. In addition to stuff like that; rates, switching and demurrage charges have been increased and free time on private cars held on railroad tracks pretty much eliminated.
Re: Did the Eastern Division change York soon enough?
And you were probably happy your SUV got great mileage home without the weight of trains. Yhanks EDTCA! As long as you have a meet and I'm able to attend I'm there. Pretty much sums up my feelings as well. Seeing friends again is the major attraction.
Re: I'm planning a trip to the Grand Canyon & More.
It also appears to be a one way rental, try to get unlimited mileage if you can. I have found some one-way quotes look good until you realize there is a per-mile charge. If you are a Costco member, the car rental rates via Costco Travel are usually good. From Flagstaff you can visit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Re: Standard Railroad of the World...For A Reason!
J Daddy The PRR ran the Timken locomotive for thousands of miles before it ever made it out the the NP. Why didn't the PRR take that data and profit "off the backs of other railroads that spent engineering and design money" on a fine locomotive like Four Aces? Two dozen Timken type locomotives could have resulted in the layoff of half the passenger helper crews in Altoona and sent 50 K4s to scrap.
Re: Train Stores & Sites to see passing thru PA.
I could take I-80W to Akron, then connect to I-76 to I-71S. Mileage is negligible, between the two different routes. I'm planning on dropping by Pat's while passing thru Wheeling to say hi, and hitting the Curve, and see Altoona. What else can I see on this trip. Not visiting the whole state. Just picking up a friend, and coming back home.
Losing DCS control with signal at 10 - O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum
I actually got stronger signal with 14 than 12? Your mileage may vary! The signal can be strong with a single engine test and then fail with a consist (lash-up). I think that also could show up with a poor connection failing under heavier load? ie turning the smoke on.
MTH Engine Gear Ratios | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum
I've counted the gear ratios on a lot of locos, and at one point several years ago, Dave Hikel shared a table with some common gear ratios. Every MTH diesel I've ever measured is geared at 10.5:1. I thought I measured the wheels at 0.875"; that loco may have had a lot of mileage with its tires worn smooth. I no longer have physical access to all of the locos I measured. In trying to relate the ...
O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum
Steamers may be more problematic due to antenna proximity to the shell Gauge for the TMCC signal wire is not important as very little current runs through it T his information is provided without warranty (both express or implied) and no results are guaranteed.
