Just as an update my Ghibli is expected to be completed 1/12 or day 22. They will have had it 22 of the 33 days since purchase. One of the parts needed was a water pump that was unavailable in the US. To fix the issue Maserati sent an engine cover with the pump already installed for the dealer to use.

The Tech guys from Manhattan Maserati said it was the tires themselves, not a deficiency with the Ghibli's design. As MRPA1999 stated, the summer tire rubber compound is great when the temperatures are high, road temps are high and friction causes the tires to stick to the road.
